Universal Testing Machines – Instron

Universal Testing Machines – Instron

Two universal testing machines from Instron are available at WW I. One of them is equipped for tensile testing, the other for compression testing of materials at different temperatures. In both cases, the control and data recording is carried out by the H & P-Labmaster testing software from Hegewald and Peschke.

  • Tensile test:
    • Maximum force: 100 kN
    • Strain measurement options: clip-on, inductive, laser
    • Clamping devices for standard specimens (cylindrical specimens, flat specimens), but also special geometries
    • Temperature range: RT – 1100 ° C
    • Resistance heating with window for laser measurement
    • Induction heating
    • Special features: attempts to change the expansion rate with regulation according to true expansion are possible
  • Compression test:
    • Maximum force: approx. 25 kN
    • Strain measurement: inductive
    • Temperature range: RT – 1200 ° C
    • Resistance heating
    • Special feature: elongation control possible, attempts to change the elongation rate with control based on true elongation are possible
    • Possibility to determine the strain rate sensitivity in the compression test in the speed range 10-5 s-1 – 10-1 s-1
