Pneumatic mechanic creep machines

At the Institute WWI, special custom-made pneumatic mechanic test machines, build for high temperature tensile- and compression creep testing, are used. The heating chambers enable tests at temperatures up to 1100°C at constant stress. The displacement is measured outside of the heating chamber with a displacement sensor or directly at the sample via LVDTs. The testing machines are mainly used for characterising high temperature nickel- and cobaltbase superalloys. In addition, conventional tensile- and compression creep machines are operated.
