Successful doctorate of Nicklas Volz!
Mr. Nicklas Volz successfully defended his dissertation titled “Microstructural, chemical and thermomechanical factors influencing the deformation mechanisms and mechanical properties of single crystal cobalt-based superalloys” on 03.03.23. In addition to family, friends and SFB partners, several generations of the institute’s cobalt-basis researchers gathered for the occasion, see featured image. After the “real” post-exam, the society duly celebrated until late at night.
Mr. Volz joined Thermo Fisher in Erlangen in fall of 2021 as a manufacturing engineer in the Advanced Manufacturing department.
