Successful doctorate of Stefan Gabel!
On January 12, 2025, Mr. Stefan Gabel successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled “New in-situ micro-bending beam methods for determining the fatigue life on the microscale and the fracture toughness of α-Cr / β-NiAl precipitation systems.” In his thesis, he developed innovative experimental methods for the mechanical characterization of complex precipitation systems on the microscale, based on the in situ micro-bending beam method. The results obtained provide important new insights into the fatigue and fracture behavior of modern high-performance materials and thus make a valuable contribution to materials science research.
Dr. Stefan Gabel now works at Evosys Laser GmbH. The MSE I Chair congratulates him on this outstanding achievement and wishes him and his family all the best, both professionally and privately.
