The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS) hosted their annual conference in the San Diego Conference Center, California, USA on March 15-19, featuring over 120 symposia and spanning 11 technical topics. Over 4,000 attendees participated in the event, including several researchers from MSE I.
Presentations from the MSE I cohort included an invited talk by Dr. Steffen Neumeier during the prestigious Nix Award Lecture Symposium honoring Professor William D. Nix and the current Nix Awardee, and close collaborator of MSE I, Michael J. Mills (The Ohio State University). Additional contributions to other symposiums included two talks each by Dr. Michael Wurmshuber and Dr. Ashton Egan, as well as a second talk by Dr. Neumeier. As always, TMS provided fruitful interactions and scientific discussions with colleagues both new and old, including recent MSE I alumnus Dr. Andreas Bezold (The Ohio State University) as well as longtime collaborator Prof. Gunther Eggeler (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) and his accompanying group.
