CNC milling machine – Pocket NC

CNC milling machine – Pocket NC

The Pocket NC is a 5-axis desktop CNC (computer numerical control) milling machine. Custom designed sample holders, micro-tensile specimens or devices for new experiments, are quickly and easily fabricated. Many different materials can be machined, for example, Copper, Aluminium, Titanium, Steel, PEEK (Polyether ether ketone) and POM (Polyoxymethylene). With the software Fusion 360©, a 3D CAM (computer aided manufacturing) model is designed, simulated and translated into G-code, the programming language for the milling machine. The Pocket NC is controlled simply with a computer and a browser. Different milling/cutting tools can be used and are quickly manually exchanged to enable a precise, intricate result. In addition, the user can fix the stock material with three different fixtures. With the ease of operation, variety of machinable materials, 5-axis movement and tool flexibility, complex geometries and devices are routinely manufactured at WW1.
